The short version: Barakah Bedtime is a kids app built with privacy at its core. We do not collect personal information, we do not run ads, and we do not track your children. Everything stays on your device.
1. Information We Collect
Barakah Bedtime collects very little data, and none of it identifies you or your child personally.
No accounts or sign-in. We do not ask for names, email addresses, or any personal details.
No location data. We never access your device's location.
No photos, contacts, or microphone access.
No user-generated content. There are no comments, messages, or social features.
2. Analytics
We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to understand how the app is used in aggregate. TelemetryDeck collects anonymous usage signals only — for example, which stories are most popular or how often the sleep timer is used.
No personal data is collected or transmitted.
No device fingerprinting or cross-app tracking.
Data cannot be tied back to any individual user.
During onboarding, a parent may select a child's age range and a bedtime goal to help us shape future content. These selections are transmitted anonymously with no identifier that can be linked to you or your child.
Purchase events (subscription started, plan selected, cancellation reason) are also sent anonymously to help us understand which plans resonate with families.
Barakah Bedtime offers optional subscriptions managed entirely through Apple's App Store. We never see, process, or store your payment information. Apple handles all billing, receipts, and subscription management under their own privacy policy.
4. Data Stored on Your Device
The app stores the following data locally on your device only:
Listening history — so you can pick up where you left off.
Preferences — such as sleep timer settings and favorite stories.
Downloaded audio — for offline listening.
This data never leaves your device. It is not synced to any server, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Barakah Bedtime is designed for children ages 6-8, and we take their privacy seriously. The app is submitted to Apple's "Made for Kids" category and follows all associated requirements.
We do not collect personal information that identifies any individual child — no names, email addresses, phone numbers, photos, precise location, or biometric data.
We do not serve advertisements of any kind — no behavioral ads, no contextual ads, no in-app promotions.
We do not include third-party ad tracking, behavioral targeting, or data-broker integrations.
We do not include social features, chat, user-generated content, or any way for children to share personal information.
We do not expose external links, email clients, or purchase flows to children. All such actions are placed behind a parental gate that requires an adult to solve a multi-digit math problem before continuing.
The only data transmitted from the app is anonymous aggregate usage (see Section 2), which cannot be used to identify any child.
Parental Consent: The App Store download and installation is performed by an adult account holder, who also sets up any subscription. During onboarding, only the installing adult can navigate the personalization prompts (age range, bedtime goal); no personal information is requested about the child.
Parents' Rights: At any time, a parent may request that we delete any data associated with their device by emailing us. Because we do not collect persistent identifiers tied to you or your child, deletion typically consists of confirming no such data is present on our servers.
Our app complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's "Made for Kids" guidelines. If you believe we have inadvertently collected any personal information from a child, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will investigate and delete it.
6. Third-Party Services
The only third-party services involved are:
Apple — for App Store subscription processing. Apple's privacy policy governs how they handle payment data.
TelemetryDeck — for anonymous, aggregated analytics only. No personal data is shared.
We do not share, sell, or rent any data to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.
7. Data Retention
Since we do not collect personal data on any server, there is nothing to retain or delete on our end. All app data lives on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version at this URL and update the effective date. For material changes, we will also include a notice within the app.
